Columbus, GA-In the championship of the loser’s bracket at the annual Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Softball Tournament, Fort Valley State University’s Lady Wildcats found themselves matched up against a very familiar opponent, the Albany State University Lady Rams. In a battle of the two top teams from the SIAC’s East Region, the #1 Lady Rams defeated the #2 Lady Wildcats of Fort Valley State 5-0. Fort Valley State completes its season with a record of 26-23.

Fort Valley 9, Kentucky State 2-The Fort Valley State University Lady Wildcats, the #2 seed out of the SIAC’s East Region, defeated the SIAC West’s top team (Kentucky State) in a game matching up two teams with a long history of close games in tournament play.

Miles 3, Fort Valley 2-In what may have been the longest game in SIAC Softball Tournament history, the Miles College Lady Bears outlasted the Lady Wildcats of Fort Valley State 3-2 in a 13 inning classic. With the win, Miles advances to the SIAC Championship Game bracket while Fort Valley drops down to the loser’s bracket in the double-elimination tournament.
