The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) released its 2009 Softball All-Conference team, and the Fort Valley State University Lady Wildcats had some players named to the squad.

4.19.09 | Women's Track and Field
The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) held its annual Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Atlanta this past weekend. Morehouse College’s Edwin Moses Track was the site of the event, and once again the crowd was treated to an exciting affair. The Fort Valley State University Lady Wildcats put on an impressive showing as well, finishing in second place with a total of 142 points. Albany State won the team championship with 217.5 points.

4.19.09 | Men's Track and Field
The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) held its annual outdoor track and field championships this past weekend in Atlanta on the campus of Morehouse College. Fort Valley’s men’s track team finished fourth in the team totals with 89 points. Morehouse College captured the team championship with 209 points.

      The Fort Valley State University Lady Wildcats tennis team, a unit that has consistently contended for the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title, did so once again this season. Fort Valley State advanced to the SIAC title match, but fell 5-4 to the Tigerettes of Tuskegee University.

The Fort Valley State University Lady Wildcats softball team lost both games of a doubleheader to the Lady Tigers of Benedict College Wednesday afternoon. With the two losses, Fort Valley State falls to 20-21 overall, 8-8 in the SIAC. The game was a rescheduled contest due to bad weather earlier in the season.

4.15.09 | Men's Tennis
The Fort Valley State University men’s tennis team will enter the upcoming SIAC tournament as the #1 seed. Under the guidance of head coach Willie Foster, the Wildcats won the SIAC regular season title with a 9-1 record. Presently, the Wildcats are 11-7 overall.

Fort Valley State University will hold its annual Blue & Gold spring football game this coming Saturday (April 18) at 2:00 p.m. Due to the construction of the new Wildcat Stadium, the game will be held at Peach County High School’s football stadium.
